What the job is

This is a Fitness Instructor position at Virgin Active South Africa, based in Cape Town, Western Cape. The role involves inspiring people to live active lives by promoting fitness products and services in a gym environment.

What you will do

You will build relationships with gym members to help keep them motivated and coming back. You will conduct fitness sessions and introduce new members to the gym. You will also promote fitness programs and additional services available to members. You must ensure the health and safety of all members at all times. Additionally, you will handle administrative tasks and stay updated with industry trends through ongoing training.

What you need

You must have a Matric qualification and a recognized fitness certification. You need at least 6 months of experience in the fitness industry and a First Aid qualification with AED certification. You should be able to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays. Good customer service skills and the ability to connect with people are essential. Adaptability, a willingness to learn, and a positive attitude are also important.
