What the job is

This is a full-time position for a Service Desk Engineer at iOCO, a company specializing in IT infrastructure services. The job is based in Cape Town, Western Cape. You will work as part of a team that supports customers, manages technical issues, and ensures smooth IT operations in a fast-paced environment.

What you will do

You will interact with customers in a professional and friendly manner, providing excellent service over the phone and via email. Your daily tasks will include logging and tracking incidents, monitoring systems for issues, and escalating problems to the right teams when needed. You will also follow up on open tickets, coordinate with service providers, and ensure all communication with clients is clear and timely. Additionally, you will perform system checks, manage events, and work closely with colleagues to meet service level agreements and resolve technical queries efficiently.

What you need

You must have a Matric certificate (Grade 12) and preferably A+ and N+ certifications. Strong English communication skills, both spoken and written, are required to handle stakeholder interactions. Experience or knowledge in ITIL, Linux/Unix, SQL, Remedy/HP Service Desk, or event monitoring tools will be beneficial. You should be a self-driven team player with a positive attitude, good work ethic, and the ability to multitask. A valid driver’s license and reliable transport are necessary to travel to and from work.
