What the job is

We are hiring two experienced .NET MAUI developers to join our team in Cape Town, Western Cape. The company, iOCO, is setting up a small development team to work on a new Android terminal application built using .NET MAUI. This is a contract position based in Cape Town with a hybrid work model.

What you will do

You will design and build the terminal application using .NET MAUI. You will integrate the application with payment systems, fleet management, and mobile money back-ends. You will take ownership of features from the initial specification discussions all the way through to testing on actual devices. You will test the application on physical terminals at the Cape Town office. You will also contribute to the overall architecture and technical direction of the project.

What you need

You must have strong commercial experience with .NET and C#. You should have a proven track record of delivering projects using .NET MAUI or Xamarin.Forms. Experience with the Android platform, including native interoperability and working with hardware SDKs, is required. You should be comfortable using AI coding tools like Claude, Cursor, or Copilot on a daily basis. The ability to work independently with loosely defined requirements is essential. Additional experience in payments, POS, or terminal applications (such as EMV, ISO 8583, or PCI) is a plus. Familiarity with PAX, Ingenico, Verifone, or similar device SDKs, as well as fuel forecourt or retail automation, is advantageous. Experience with offline-first design or CI/CD for Android deployment is also beneficial.
