What the job is

This is a full-time position for a Reception Supervisor at Melomed Private Hospitals SA, located in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town, Western Cape. The role involves overseeing the hospital and unit reception areas, as well as managing drivers and porters to ensure smooth operations.

What you will do

You will be responsible for the overall quality and efficiency of the reception services to ensure client satisfaction. Your duties will include managing and training staff, implementing and maintaining hospital policies and procedures, and providing support to patients, doctors, and personnel. You will also handle monthly statistics, basic financial tasks such as monitoring and handling cash, and conducting regular documentation audits. Strong customer service skills are essential for this role.

What you need

To qualify, you must have a Grade 12 certificate, and a tertiary qualification in a related field will be an advantage. You need a valid driver’s licence and your own transport. At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory position, preferably in a similar environment, is required. Excellent interpersonal skills, a good understanding of client service principles, and proficiency in MS Office are necessary. You must also have strong leadership, mentorship, planning, and organisational skills, along with excellent communication abilities in both Afrikaans and English. Independent decision-making and problem-solving skills are important.
