What the job is

This is a temporary role for a Finance Administrator at takealot.com, a top online shopping company in South Africa. The job is based in Cape Town, Western Cape, and will cover someone’s maternity leave. You will work in the Finance Team and report to the Accounts Receivable Manager.

What you will do

You will process customer invoices and credit notes every day. You will upload customer payments using the company’s internal systems. You will create and manage customer accounts to make sure they are accurate. You will handle customer accounts and relationships to collect payments on time. You will help with questions between different companies and departments, and process inter-company recharges for vouchers. You will regularly check and reconcile accounts receivable records to ensure accuracy. You will also reconcile voucher creation and invoicing at the end of each month. Additionally, you will investigate and resolve customer queries quickly and professionally. You may also be asked to do other tasks as needed in the department.

What you need

You need at least 2 to 3 years of experience in a finance administration role. Experience with financial software like SAGE Evolution is a plus. You must be skilled in using Microsoft Office, especially Excel. A relevant Accounting Degree or Diploma is required. You should have a high level of accuracy, strong attention to detail, and good organizational and time management skills. Strong communication skills and the ability to handle customer queries professionally are important. Problem-solving skills are also necessary.
