What the job is This is a full-time teaching job at the University of the Free State in Bloemfontein, Free State. You will work in the Animal Science department. You must get a PhD during this time to keep the job. - Experience giving talks or presentations at conferences. - Written work that can be published in academic journals. - A good academic record.
Senior Lecturer: - A PhD in Animal Breeding or a related field. - Experience presenting at national conferences. - Recognized as an expert in your field. - An NRF rating or potential to get one. - Experience supervising Master’s students. - Published research in academic journals. - Active in national or international research groups.

Associate Professor: - A PhD in Animal Breeding or a related field. - Experience as an external examiner for postgraduate students. - Presented research at national conferences. - Served on editorial boards of academic journals. - Recognized as a research leader in your field. - An NRF rating of C3 or similar. - Supervised Master’s students, and preferably PhD students. - Published research in academic journals. - Active in national or international research groups.

Good to have: - Registration with the South African Council for Natural Scientists. - Teaching, research, or industry experience. - Knowledge of genetics, genomics, or data science. - Experience with data analysis software like PLINK, GATK, R, SAS, or similar. - Programming skills in R, Fortran, or other languages. - Experience getting research funding.
