What the job is

This is a full-time position for a Client and Portfolio Operations Team Lead at Futuregrowth, based in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town. The role involves overseeing daily operations related to client and portfolio management, ensuring smooth execution, controls, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced financial environment.

What you will do

You will manage day-to-day portfolio operations, including cash flows, transitions, fee processing, and reporting. You will ensure all operational outputs are accurate, complete, and delivered on time. You will monitor exceptions, dependencies, and recurring issues, escalating important matters to the Manager when needed. You will also provide guidance to the team on complex operational matters and work with internal teams, custodians, and service providers to maintain strong execution and control. Additionally, you will track cash-related risks, maintain banking and cash operations, and use data insights to identify service gaps and recommend improvements. You will lead the team by planning workloads, coaching members, and ensuring all processes and controls are documented.

What you need

You need at least 6-8 years of experience in institutional asset management operations, with a strong background in portfolio administration, cash flows, transitions, and client deliverables. A BCom or BCom Honours degree in finance or a related field is required. You should have advanced Excel skills, experience with data analysis, and familiarity with systems like Microsoft D365 or similar investment administration tools. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential, along with a disciplined approach to risk and control management.
