Medical Aid Administrator (Contract)

What the job is

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for a Medical Aid Administrator to work at their Head Office in Midrand, Gauteng. This is a fixed-term contract position. The role involves managing medical aid payments and helping stores with claims and outstanding payments from medical schemes.

What you will do

You will balance the remittance register and oversee direct deposits after month-end. You will accurately allocate and update medical aid payments and process daily adjustments. You will review adjustments and investigate scripts that appear on your adjustment and outstanding lists. You will check script history to see if funds are still available and compare received funds with outstanding amounts. You will inform Dispensary Managers about levy changes and email remittance registers to bookkeepers. You will handle daily email queries and assist pharmacists, dispensers, managers, supervisors, customers, auditors, and medical schemes. You will also report compliments and complaints to management.

What you need

You must have a Grade 12 or Matric certificate and at least 2 years of relevant experience. A finance qualification would be an advantage. You need strong knowledge of medical aid and finance, good English reading, writing, and speaking skills, and the ability to communicate internally. You must be deadline-oriented, able to analyze and solve problems, and have good time management and computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office. A second language and a driver’s license or reliable transport are beneficial. You must be able to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and have a clear criminal and credit record.
