What the job is

This is a full-time position for a Dispensary Manager at Dis-Chem Pharmacies in the Blomtuin store, located in Bellville, Western Cape. The role involves managing and supervising the dispensary, including self-medication and staff, while ensuring high-quality pharmaceutical care for patients.

What you will do

You will oversee the dispensary and self-medication areas to ensure they are properly staffed and that all staff follow Good Pharmacy Practice rules. You will manage stock by checking for expired or short-dated items, disposing of expired stock, and investigating negative stock daily. You will also handle stock ordering, maintain stock levels, and ensure Schedule 6 medications are securely stored with updated registers. Additionally, you will interpret prescriptions accurately, verify patient details, pick, pack, and label medication correctly, and provide clear instructions to patients. You will process medical aid claims, maintain customer profiles, and train the Dispensary Admin Assistant.

What you need

You must have a Matric certificate and a BPharm degree or equivalent qualification. You need to be registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) and have experience as a registered tutor. Experience in supervising staff, using Unisolv, and being computer literate in MS Office is required. Strong numerical skills, fluency in English and a second language, and the ability to work retail hours are also essential. Previous management experience, retail/FMCG experience, knowledge of a third language, SAP, or e-scripting would be advantageous.
