What the job is

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for a Dispensary Manager to work at their Blomtuin store in Bellville, Cape Town. This is a permanent position where you will manage the pharmacy team and ensure patients receive the best care. You will be responsible for overseeing the dispensary and self-medication areas, making sure everything runs smoothly and follows the rules.

What you will do

You will supervise the pharmacy staff and ensure they follow Good Pharmacy Practice rules. Your duties include managing stock levels, ordering supplies, and disposing of expired medication. You will also interpret prescriptions accurately, provide clear instructions to patients about their medicine, and handle medical aid claims. Additionally, you will train staff, maintain customer profiles, and ensure all legal and safety requirements are met.

What you need

To apply, you must have a Matric certificate and a BPharm degree or equivalent qualification. You need to be registered with the South African Pharmacy Council and have experience supervising staff. Strong computer skills, numerical ability, and good communication in English and a second language are required. Previous management experience, retail or FMCG background, and knowledge of systems like Unisolv or SAP will be an advantage.
