What the job is

This is a job for a Creative Lead – Design at Weaver Fintech Ltd in Cape Town, Western Cape. The company is looking for an experienced designer who can lead a team and create high-quality creative work for their brands. This is a permanent position where you will play a key role in shaping the creative direction and output of the design studio.

What you will do

You will lead, mentor, and manage a team of designers, giving them clear direction and support. You will work closely with the Head of Creative to turn creative and brand strategies into effective designs. You will be responsible for the day-to-day quality of design work and will stay hands-on by designing and directing key projects. You will oversee creative work from start to finish across digital, social media, print, and other channels. You will also help build and maintain design systems and templates in Figma and work with other teams to ensure consistent and high-quality creative output.

What you need

You need at least 7 years of design experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or mentoring role. You must have advanced skills in Figma and a strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite. Experience in motion, video, and digital design is essential. You should have a strong portfolio showing high-quality, multi-channel creative work. You must be comfortable presenting ideas, making creative decisions, and balancing leadership with hands-on design tasks.
