What the job is

This is a job for a Creative Lead - Design at Weaver Fintech Ltd, based in Cape Town, Western Cape. The company is looking for an experienced designer who can lead a team and create high-quality creative work for their brands. This is a permanent, full-time position where you will play a key role in shaping the company’s design direction.

What you will do

You will lead, mentor, and manage a team of designers, giving them clear direction and feedback. You will work closely with the Head of Creative to turn creative and brand strategies into strong, effective designs. You will oversee the day-to-day design quality and creative execution across the studio. You will also design and art direct priority campaigns and projects yourself. Additionally, you will create and maintain design systems, templates, and brand assets in Figma, and collaborate with other teams like Copy, Marketing, and Product to deliver cohesive creative work.

What you need

You need at least 7 years of design experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or mentoring role. You must have advanced skills in Figma and a strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite. Experience in motion, video, and digital design is essential, along with excellent conceptual thinking, art direction, and visual storytelling abilities. You should have a strong portfolio showing high-quality, multi-channel creative work. Confidence in presenting ideas, making creative decisions, and working in a fast-paced environment is also required.
