What the job is

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for a qualified Clinic Nurse Practitioner to join their team in Rynfield, Benoni, Gauteng. This is a permanent position where you will manage and operate a Primary Health Care Clinic inside a pharmacy. The clinic serves the local community, and you will work within the scope of a registered nursing practitioner.

What you will do

You will perform all duties of a Clinic Nurse Practitioner according to industry regulations and best practices. This includes managing patient flow to meet clinic targets, ensuring all clinic services are available, and keeping accurate patient records. You will also process medical aid claims correctly and on time, maintain clinic stock and equipment, and ensure the clinic operates during its scheduled hours. Building strong relationships with patients, colleagues, medical aids, and suppliers is also part of the role.

What you need

You must have a Matric certificate, a tertiary qualification in General Nursing, and a Degree or Diploma in Midwifery. You need to be registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) and have BHF registration as a nursing practitioner. At least 2-3 years of experience as a Primary Health Care Clinic Sister is required, along with computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). A valid driver’s license, your own reliable transport, and the ability to work retail hours are essential. Additional qualifications like patient record systems or extra courses in healthcare are advantageous.
