What the job is

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is hiring a Clinic Nurse Practitioner (also called a Clinic Sister) for their East Point store in Boksburg, Gauteng. This is a permanent position where you will manage and run a Primary Health Care Clinic inside a pharmacy. The role involves providing healthcare services to patients while following the rules and best practices for registered nursing practitioners.

What you will do

You will perform all duties of a Clinic Sister according to industry standards and regulations. You will manage patient flow and clinic targets to improve patient care. You will ensure all clinic services are available and keep accurate patient records. You will make sure the clinic opens and closes on time as per operational hours. You will process medical claims correctly and on time. You will check that all stock and equipment in the clinic are working and well-stocked. You will build and maintain good relationships with patients, store managers, colleagues, medical aids, suppliers, and other healthcare professionals.

What you need

You must have a Matric certificate and a tertiary qualification in General Nursing. You must also have a Degree or Diploma in Midwifery and be registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC). You need BHF registration as a nursing practitioner and 2-3 years of experience as a Primary Health Care Clinic Sister. Computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) are required. Additional experience of 5 years as a Primary Health Care Sister and knowledge of Patient Record System, CKS, and Allegra are advantageous. You must have a valid driver’s license, your own transport, and be a South African citizen with clear credit and criminal records.
