What the job is

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for a Retail Store Assistant to join their team at the Overport store in Berea, KwaZulu-Natal. This is a permanent position where you will help manage the store’s daily operations and administrative tasks according to company policies and procedures.

What you will do

You will handle customer complaints and compliments and report them to management. You will build professional relationships with customers, resolve stock queries, and assist with customer inquiries. You will manage cash handling, including floats, refunds, and returns, and ensure accurate stock control. You will also verify deliveries and invoices, prepare daily financial reconciliations, and assist with ordering change for cashiers. Additionally, you will maintain proper documentation for cash, petty cash, and other financial records.

What you need

You must have a Matric certificate (Grade 12) and basic computer skills, including knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, and SAP. Previous retail experience is required. You should be a team player with strong customer service skills, leadership abilities, and the ability to work under pressure. You must be trustworthy, honest, and deadline-driven. A valid driver’s license or reliable transport is necessary, and you must be a South African citizen with a clear criminal and credit record.
