Auxiliary Nurse

What the job is Dis-Chem Pharmacies in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal needs an Auxiliary Nurse. You will help with basic nursing care and support patients before they see a doctor or nurse. You will work in a clinic inside a Dis-Chem store.

What you will do - Welcome patients and check their details. - Ask why they are visiting the clinic. - Take and record vital signs like blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and weight. - Check blood sugar if needed. - Tell the nurse if any vital signs are not normal. - Help with basic health checks. - Make sure patient records are correct and up to date. - Help patients sign needed forms. - Keep the clinic area clean and safe. - Follow rules to stop infections. - Work with nurses, doctors, and other staff. - Follow instructions from the nurse. - Help patients move through the clinic smoothly. - Keep patient information private. - Do not diagnose, prescribe, or give medical advice. - Tell the nurse if a patient seems very sick or if you are unsure about something.

What you need - Matric certificate. - Higher Certificate in Auxiliary Nursing or similar qualification. - Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC). - 1 to 3 years experience in a clinic or healthcare setting. - Good with computers, especially MS Office. - Must speak, read, and write English and another language. - Must be able to stand for long periods. - Must have a clear credit and criminal record.
