What the job is

This is a full-time position for an Area Manager at Browns Plantations in Kericho, Kenya. The role involves supporting the Estate Manager to ensure the tea estate is managed to the highest agricultural standards, maximizing tea quality and productivity.

What you will do

You will enforce company policies, labor laws, and health and safety regulations. You will help prepare and manage the estate budget, plan labor and transport needs, and oversee tea harvesting and field operations. You will train and develop staff, manage employee relations, and ensure discipline and fairness in the workplace. You will maintain records, manage assets, and coordinate with various departments like HR, Finance, and Security. You will also supervise eucalyptus plantations, firewood operations, and ensure proper data management in ERP and IoTea systems.

What you need

You must have a degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Agricultural Engineering, or a related science field. You need at least 4 years of experience in agronomy, crop production, or field operations. Knowledge of plant breeding, tea nurseries, and project management is required. Strong skills in industrial relations and area infrastructure management are also necessary.
