This job is for a Solutions Engineer at Pedros, a well-known restaurant company. You will be based in Newlands East, KwaZulu-Natal. The role involves working on small projects that connect different systems used by Pedros, like point-of-sale (POS) systems, digital ordering, payments, and back-office tools. Your work will help make the stores, operations, and finance teams more efficient.

What you will do:
- Work closely with product owners and business teams to understand requirements and design solutions for small projects.
- Gather requirements, map out processes, and set clear acceptance criteria.
- Design simple, maintainable solutions and document data flows, business rules, and integrations.
- Build and maintain integrations between systems like Micros Simphony (POS), payment providers, loyalty systems, and back-office platforms using REST APIs, webhooks, and file-based interfaces.
- Develop internal tools and automation using Python (FastAPI), React, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, and n8n.
- Handle testing, releasing, and supporting solutions, including API and end-to-end tests, UAT, and production deployment.

What you need:
- At least 2 years of experience in software or integration engineering.
- Skills in Python and/or TypeScript, with experience building REST APIs.
- Understanding of SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred).
- Ability to turn business needs into clear requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Experience with testing tools (Postman, automated testing), Git, Docker, and CI/CD.
- Comfortable using AI coding tools like Claude, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor.
- Bonus: Experience with POS, payment, or food-ordering platforms like Micros Simphony, Transaction Junction, Uber Eats, or Mr D.
