What the job is

Eskom is hiring two Senior Technologist Engineers for its Generation Peaking division. These positions are based in Grabouw, Western Cape (Palmiet Power Station) and Ingula, KwaZulu-Natal. The role focuses on developing and supporting technology strategies, processes, standards, and designs for power generation systems.

What you will do

You will provide technical consulting and investigation services for engineering projects. You will create and integrate engineering solutions and designs for asset development. You will develop and approve technical standards, procedures, and specifications for the discipline. You will also contribute to technology vision and strategy, conduct research, and participate in national and international technical forums. Additionally, you will provide professional technical leadership to teams.

What you need

You must have a B Tech, National Higher Diploma, or Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering with 360 credits at NQF Level 7. You need at least 4 years of experience in technical engineering and related technologies, including planning, design, and management for power stations or electrical networks. You must be registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Technologist. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills are required.
