What the job is

This is a full-time position for a Senior Advisor Secondary Plant at Eskom, a leading company in electricity, energy, and water supply. The job is based in the Northern Cape Province, specifically in Upington, Kimberley, or De Aar. The role focuses on providing technical support for secondary plant systems in the grid to improve service delivery to customers.

What you will do

You will provide technical support and maintenance for secondary plant systems. You will be responsible for sanctioning plant equipment after failures and commissioning new plant into service. Additionally, you will handle project and quality assurance tasks, investigate incidents, and conduct research to enhance systems. Leadership duties include mentoring junior staff, conducting audits, and ensuring compliance with technical standards.

What you need

You must have a Bachelor’s Degree, B Tech, or National Higher Diploma in a technical field with 360 credits at NQF Level 7. At least 5 years of experience in secondary plant technical support and maintenance is required. Strong technical, leadership, and communication skills are essential, along with knowledge of relevant processes, policies, and legislation. You should also be familiar with transmission networks, plant, and equipment.
