What the job is

This is a permanent position for a Senior Technician in Telecommunications Operations at Eskom, based in East London, Eastern Cape. The role focuses on managing and controlling the operation of Eskom’s Telecommunication network, ensuring smooth and efficient performance. There are two vacancies available for this role.

What you will do

You will be responsible for managing and controlling the Telecommunication network to ensure it runs smoothly. Your duties will include performing advanced diagnostics and repairing faults in the network. You will also handle project work related to telecommunications, manage network configurations, and prepare reports on network performance. Additionally, you may be required to perform standby duties as needed.

What you need

To qualify for this role, you must have a National Diploma or National N Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Light Current) at NQF Level 6 with 240 credits. You also need at least 3 years of experience in a telecommunications-related field. Important skills include analytical and diagnostic abilities, project management, and knowledge of UNIX/Linux software. Strong communication, teamwork, and the ability to work under pressure are essential. Good color vision and the ability to work with minimal supervision are also required.
