What the job is

This is a Senior Java Developer position at Interfront SOC Ltd., a company based in Pretoria, Gauteng. What you will do

You will support and develop new features and components for existing products. You will work closely with business analysts to understand and implement new requirements. Your role includes improving and refactoring code to keep the product adaptable and maintainable. You will collaborate in a team environment, following and contributing to software development processes and standards. Additionally, you will evaluate and enhance application performance and reliability, create tests to verify functionality, and perform root cause analysis on bugs. You will also build, deploy, and integrate the system on an application server, ensuring it works smoothly with changes made by other developers.

What you need

You must have a relevant degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or a Matric certificate, along with 8-10 years of experience in software development, including at least 5 years as a senior developer in a team. Strong knowledge of Java is essential, and experience with JavaScript or TypeScript is preferred. You should be familiar with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and team development tools like Git. Experience with Java EE, Java 8 or higher (preferably Java 17), JPA/Hibernate, application servers like Karaf, build tools (Maven, Jenkins), SQL, ReactJS, Bootstrap, CSS3, HTML5, and REST/SOAP is required. Knowledge of financial systems, continuous integration tools, Docker, and other listed technologies is a plus.
