What the job is

Hire Resolve is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join their client’s company in Cape Town, Western Cape. This is a permanent position where you will manage engineering and mining equipment projects from start to finish. Your role will ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

What you will do

You will manage engineering and mining equipment projects and lead project teams. You will set up projects during the inquiry and award stages, coordinate teams, and conduct project kick-off meetings to establish objectives and deliverables. You will obtain client approval for project scope, schedules, pricing, and commercial conditions. You will develop and manage detailed project schedules, work packages, and budgets while monitoring expenditure. You will define project quality targets, standards, and quality control procedures. You will also establish effective communication between clients, project teams, internal departments, and external specialists. Additionally, you will identify, manage, and mitigate project risks, implement health, safety, and environmental requirements, and manage project change requests and their financial and schedule implications. You will liaise with suppliers regarding technical matters and project expediting.

What you need

You must have a Grade 12 certificate and a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronic Engineering. A Project Management qualification is required, and you must be registered or eligible for registration with ECSA. You need at least 10 years of project management experience, with strong technical and project management experience in mining equipment, mineral processing, engineering, or related environments. A valid driver’s license is also required.
