What the job is

This is a job for a Professional Quantity Surveyor at a well-known quantity surveying and construction consultancy. The company provides cost management and project services. The position is based in KwaDlangezwa, KwaZulu-Natal, and requires someone with experience in NEC contracts.

What you will do

You will manage quantity surveying tasks for construction and infrastructure projects. This includes preparing bills of quantities, cost estimates, valuations, and payment certificates. You will also handle cost planning, budget management, and financial reporting for projects. Additionally, you will administer construction contracts, review contractor claims, and provide commercial advice to stakeholders. Site visits to assess progress and financial performance are part of the role. You will prepare tender documents, evaluate tenders, and support procurement processes.

What you need

You must have a BSc, BTech, or BSc Honours degree in Quantity Surveying or an equivalent qualification. Professional registration with SACQSP as a Professional Quantity Surveyor is required. You need proven experience in quantity surveying, especially with NEC contracts. Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost management, and commercial administration is essential. Good communication, negotiation, and analytical skills are also important. You should be able to work independently and manage multiple projects.
