What the job is

This is a Procurement Officer position at Eskom, a leading company in the electricity, energy, and water supply industry. The job is based in Sunninghill, Gauteng, and is a permanent role. The main focus is to handle the buying of goods and services for Eskom, ensuring everything is done on time, within budget, and according to company policies.

What you will do

You will manage the entire process of buying goods and services, including high-value and high-risk items. This involves following Eskom’s procurement rules, negotiating with suppliers, and making sure agreements meet customer needs. You will also handle the administration of purchases, analyze procurement data, and solve problems that come up. Additionally, you will work closely with teams to maintain good relationships and ensure contracts and purchase orders are properly managed.

What you need

You need a National Diploma or N Diploma in Commerce, Transport Logistics, or Supply Chain Management with 240 credits at NQF Level 6. You must also have at least 3 years of experience in commercial or supplier management. Important skills include knowledge of SAP Materials Management, financial analysis, negotiation, and contract management. Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills are also required.
