Rosebank College, part of the Independent Institute of Education (IIE), is looking for a part-time Mathematics Lecturer in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. As a Mathematics Lecturer, your main job will be to teach mathematics-related modules for a set number of hours each week. You will follow the module schedule and ensure students understand the material using teaching guides. You will prepare students for exams, check their progress, and help those who are struggling. Part of your role includes working with the Academic Team to create and improve assessments, track student performance, report on results, and identify modules needing attention. Additionally, you will attend academic meetings, update online learning platforms, and provide feedback to students. You will also support students at risk of failing and complete professional development activities to improve teaching skills.

To qualify, you should have a strong background in mathematics. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Science Honours or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or Data Science, with at least two years of experience teaching modules that include data analysis. Familiarity with the South African higher education system, good communication skills, proficiency in digital learning tools, and the ability to work in a fast-changing environment are also important.

The salary for this position is market-related, and the job is part-time with working hours depending on assigned modules. Classes are usually held between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM from Monday to Friday.
