This job is for a Pharmacist Intern position at the Musgrave store in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. Dis-Chem Pharmacies is offering an internship opportunity to help you learn about key areas of pharmacy work, including providing pharmacy care, managing patient medication needs, and delivering excellent customer service. As a Pharmacist Intern, you will assist with selling medicines, preparing and packaging prescriptions, managing stock, and ensuring compliance with South African Pharmacy Council regulations. Responsibilities include accurately filling prescriptions, verifying patient details, labeling medicines correctly, and advising patients on medication usage. You will also handle medical aid claims, track stock levels, maintain pharmacy cleanliness, and assist customers at the dispensary and front shop. Requirements include a completed Matric (Grade 12) and a Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) degree. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, prior work experience, and knowledge of systems like Unisolve and E-Scripting are advantageous. Fluency in English and another language, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and teamwork abilities are essential. Retail hours, physical fitness, a valid driver’s license, and reliable transport are required. Registration with the Pharmacy Council of South Africa or a valid work permit, along with clear criminal and credit records, is mandatory.
