What the job is

Ivanhoe Mines, through its subsidiary Ivanplats, is hiring an MTS Manager for their world-class mining project near Mokopane in Limpopo. This is a permanent position at a cutting-edge underground mine that uses advanced mechanized mining methods and the latest technology. The company is developing a high-value mineral deposit, and this role is part of the project’s growth.

What you will do

You will manage and optimize mine plans and costs to ensure safe and efficient production. You will ensure mineral resources are always available to prevent production delays. You will develop and implement technical standards for the Technical Services Department, including planning and cost schedules. You will lead a multidisciplinary team and provide support to mining operations. You will also work closely with stakeholders to integrate mine production planning and processing, and advise on changes in mine operations.

What you need

You must have a Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering, mineral resource management, or a related field. Additional postgraduate qualifications are a plus. You need at least 15 years of experience in mechanized underground mining, including mine design, planning, rock engineering, ventilation, project management, and cost control. You should have strong knowledge of engineering techniques for ore body evaluation and mine operations, as well as experience in production reporting.
