What the job is

Ivanhoe Mines is hiring a Group Manager Project Controls to work in Sandton, Gauteng. Ivanhoe Mines is a global mining company that focuses on clean energy and responsible mining practices. This role is part of their Business Systems team and involves managing major mining projects in Africa.

What you will do

You will manage and oversee all project-related activities for large mining projects like Kamoa, Kipushi, and Platreef. This includes ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required safety and quality standards. You will lead a team of specialists and contractors in planning, cost control, procurement, logistics, contracts, and document management. You will also drive improvements and standardization in project control processes across the department.

What you need

You must have at least 5 years of experience in mining and project management in a senior role, preferably in African countries. A degree or diploma in engineering or commerce is required. You should have strong knowledge of mining, especially large-scale operations, and experience with project controls, contract management, and working with EPCM contractors. Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project or P6, and strong presentation skills are essential. Fluency in English and French is beneficial.
