What the job is

This is a Mid-Senior Copywriter role at Make it Good, a well-known advertising agency in Johannesburg, Gauteng. You will work for one of their top clients, a famous alcohol brand, creating standout and award-winning advertising content. What you will do

You will write bold and creative copy for campaigns, activations, and content across different platforms like TV, digital, social media, print, and experiential marketing. You will work closely with creative teams to bring big ideas to life and present these ideas to clients and internal teams. You will also collaborate with strategists to ensure your copy is based on solid insights. Additionally, you will help with new business pitches and mentor junior writers when needed, while ensuring all work stays true to the brand’s tone and quality standards.

What you need

You must have at least 4 years of copywriting experience in an advertising agency and a strong, award-winning portfolio. Your portfolio link must be included in your CV, as applications without one will not be considered. You should be skilled in writing for various formats, including ATL (Above the Line), digital, and BTL (Below the Line) advertising. Confidence in presenting ideas to clients and teams, excellent conceptual thinking, and strong copywriting skills are essential. Attention to detail is critical—no typos in your CV or portfolio. A relevant tertiary qualification is a plus but not required.

What you will get

The salary for this role is between R45,000 and R55,000 per month, cost-to-company, depending on your experience. The work model is hybrid, with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.
