What the job is

This is a Mid-Level Designer position at Arilo, a creative agency based in Cape Town. The company focuses on building and evolving brands for global clients, and they are looking for someone passionate about creating beautiful, thoughtful design work across various platforms and media.

What you will do

You will design brand identities, visual systems, campaigns, and marketing materials for a variety of brands. Your work will include creating digital content, social media assets, websites, packaging, print materials, and presentations. You will develop ideas from initial concepts to final artwork, ensuring consistency and high-quality execution across all channels. You will collaborate with the senior design lead and the broader creative team, contributing to brand creation, visual identity, and day-to-day design tasks. You will also use AI tools to assist in the creative process, though strong design skills remain the priority.

What you need

You need 4 to 6 years of experience in a creative agency, branding studio, or similar environment, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work. You should have excellent skills in brand identity, typography, layout, and visual design, as well as experience adapting brands across multiple channels. Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Figma is required, and familiarity with tools like Blender, After Effects, or AI-assisted design tools is a plus. You must be detail-oriented, able to handle feedback constructively, and passionate about producing high-quality work.

What you will get

This is a full-time, permanent position based in Cape Town, with a salary range of R30,000 to R35,000 per month, cost-to-company. You will work in an in-office setting, five days a week, and report directly to the Senior Design Lead.
