What the job is

This is a Junior Manager position at Pedros, a restaurant chain, for their new store opening in Pinetown, KwaZulu-Natal. You will be part of a dynamic team helping to launch the restaurant and build a strong customer-focused culture from the start. This is a permanent job in a fast-paced and exciting work environment.

What you will do

You will prepare, clean, cut, and portion chicken according to the company’s standards. You will marinate, season, and bread the chicken following the given recipes and procedures. You will check the chicken for freshness and quality before preparation. You will rotate stock using the First In, First Out (FIFO) method to ensure freshness and reduce waste. You will store raw chicken safely at the correct temperatures and keep the prep area, tools, and equipment clean and organized at all times. You will also assist cooks and other team members during busy periods and report any stock shortages, equipment issues, or food safety concerns to your supervisor.

What you need

Previous experience in food preparation or kitchen work is helpful but not required. You must be able to follow recipes and standard operating procedures consistently. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to food safety are essential. Good teamwork and communication skills are important, as is the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You must be willing to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
