What the job is

This is a job for an IT Technician at a well-known IT Services and Solutions company in Paarl, Western Cape. The company is looking for someone to join their team and provide technical support to clients in the area. The role is permanent and based in Paarl.

What you will do

You will provide hands-on IT support, both remotely and on-site. This includes fixing computer hardware and software problems, setting up and maintaining UniFi and Ubiquiti networking equipment like access points and switches, and supporting Windows 11 workstations and Windows Server environments. You will also manage Microsoft 365, including user accounts, licenses, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive. Additional tasks include handling networking tasks like IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, and troubleshooting wireless connectivity. You will log and prioritize support tickets, assist with on-site installations, cabling, and hardware deployments, and perform proactive maintenance, backups, and patching. Clear communication with clients, both in person and remotely, is also required.

What you need

You need strong practical experience in computer troubleshooting, networking, and Windows environments. Hands-on experience with UniFi or Ubiquiti hardware is essential, along with solid knowledge of Windows 11 and Windows Server. You should have experience administering Microsoft 365 and hold certifications like CompTIA A+ or Network+. A valid driver’s license and reliable transport are required for on-site work. Good communication skills, a customer-focused attitude, and the ability to solve problems independently or in a team are important. Additional certifications in Microsoft, Ubiquiti, or similar, as well as experience with VoIP, fibre, CCTV, or cloud services, would be an advantage. Bilingual skills in Afrikaans and English are also beneficial.
