This job is for an IT Security Administrator working in the IT department at Brights Hardware, located in Brackenfell, Western Cape. You will be responsible for keeping the company’s local branch networks and IT systems safe and secure while also helping to manage the network and mobile devices used in stores.

Key Responsibilities:
- Check local networks and devices for security risks and ensure all systems have the latest security updates and antivirus software.
- Manage the company’s Android devices, including setup, app installation, and security compliance.
- Assist in setting up and maintaining the local network (switches, cables, wireless access points) alongside the senior administrator.
- Implement and manage security measures like endpoint protection, firewall checks, access controls, and folder permissions.
- Troubleshoot store network or connectivity issues, including physical connections and cables.
- Track network equipment and hardware in stores, including serial numbers, and assist store staff with hardware/network access issues.
- Set up, fix, and maintain local hardware (computers, printers, switches, etc.) and diagnose hardware problems.
- Ensure offline POS systems work correctly and store sales data without internet.
- Train store staff on online safety, including phishing/spam recognition and security practices.
- Transition network tasks from contractors to the in-house team as contracts end.

Requirements:
- Matric or 3 completed Intercept courses (120 credits).
- Qualification in Information Technology (Higher Certificate, Diploma, or Degree).
- Ability to work under pressure in a busy retail environment.
- 1-2 years of experience in network troubleshooting or security administration.
- Strong understanding of LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, VLANs, and switch settings.
- Knowledge of security protocols, endpoint security, and access control lists.
- Retail or Kerridge K8 systems experience is a plus.
