We are looking for an Intermediate UX Developer (Frontend Engineer) to join our team at iOCO in Stellenbosch, Western Cape. This is a contract position where you will work on building and improving modern web applications for Capitec. The role focuses on creating user-friendly, responsive, and scalable interfaces using React and TypeScript.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain modern frontend applications using React and TypeScript.
- Build reusable components following established design systems and component libraries like MUI or MUI X.
- Translate design and business requirements into functional, accessible, and well-structured code.
- Contribute to shared frontend components and design systems, ensuring reusability and maintainability.
- Write clean, tested code and follow best practices for software development.
- Collaborate with designers, product owners, and engineers to clarify requirements and solve technical challenges.
- Use AI tools responsibly to assist with development tasks while ensuring quality standards.

Requirements:
- 2 to 5 years of experience developing frontend applications with React and TypeScript.
- Experience with component libraries like MUI or similar design systems.
- Proficiency in Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
- Understanding of component composition, API design, and frontend build tools.
- Familiarity with themes, design tokens, and accessibility principles.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues independently and document work clearly.

Preferred:
- Relevant degree, diploma, or equivalent practical experience in software engineering.
