What the job is

This is a job for a Graduate Mechanical Engineer at SFI Group (Pty) Ltd in Cape Town, Western Cape. What you will do

You will help design and analyze mechanical systems for commercial and industrial projects. You will perform thermal analysis and heat transfer calculations to support engineering designs. You will assist with HVAC system design, including duct sizing, airflow calculations, and system balancing. You will support equipment selection based on project needs and engineering standards. You will also help with reliability engineering, preventive maintenance planning, and troubleshooting mechanical equipment. Additionally, you will prepare technical reports, drawings, and other project documents, and conduct site inspections and commissioning activities when needed.

What you need

You must have a Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply. You should have a good understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including mechanical system design, thermal analysis, and HVAC systems. Knowledge of heat transfer calculations, equipment selection, and industrial process systems is important. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, and experience with AutoCAD, Revit MEP, or SolidWorks is a plus. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to work both independently and in a team.
