This is a 6-month contract position for a Financial Accountant at Sea Harvest, a company in the seafood industry. Based in Cape Town, Western Cape, the role involves supporting the finance team with accurate financial processing, reporting, and compliance tasks for the South African Fishing Division and related companies.

Key Responsibilities:
- Handle daily cashbook entries for Rand and foreign currency accounts
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations across multiple entities
- Prepare and manage one-off electronic fund transfers (EFTs)
- Prepare income tax schedules and VAT 201 submissions
- Maintain compliance with VAT laws and regulations
- Update fixed asset register and process cost reallocations
- Prepare general ledger and journal entries
- Manage petty cash and credit card allocations
- Reconcile intercompany accounts
- Assist with CAPSTA reporting and ad hoc financial tasks

Requirements:
- Associate-level experience in finance or accounting
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounts and financial reporting
- Knowledge of tax compliance, VAT regulations, and fixed asset accounting
- Experience with bank reconciliations, journal entries, and EFT payments
- Attention to detail and ability to work under deadlines
