What the job is: This job is for a Cashier position at the Sitari Fields store in Somerset West, part of Dis-Chem Pharmacies Limited. You will work in a retail pharmacy environment, assisting customers with purchases and ensuring smooth checkout operations. The store is located in Cape Town, Western Cape, and this is a permanent full-time position.

What you will do: As a Cashier, you will handle customer transactions at the point of sale using the Dis-Chem operating system. Responsibilities include processing sales, refunds, and payments accurately, managing cash flow, securing cash, and handling daily takings. You will assist customers with product inquiries, loyalty cards, and returns/exchanges. Customer service policies must be followed, including professional greetings and reporting complaints/compliments. You will also maintain security by reporting suspicious behavior and ensuring correct stock scanning. Passwords and codes must be kept secure.

What you need: To qualify, you must have a Grade 12 or Matric certificate and at least six months of cashier or till operation experience. Computer literacy (especially Microsoft Office) is required. Strong numerical skills, English proficiency, and basic customer service skills are essential. Willingness to work retail hours (evenings, weekends, holidays) is mandatory. Key qualities include being presentable, trustworthy, and responsible with money.
