What the job is

This is a permanent position for a Field Service Technician at Eskom, a leading company in electricity, energy, and water supply. The job is based in De Aar, Northern Cape, and focuses on maintaining and repairing telecommunications equipment for Eskom’s operations.

What you will do

You will independently install, set up, and maintain telecommunications equipment according to Eskom’s standards and procedures. Your tasks will include diagnosing faults, repairing equipment, and ensuring all work meets safety, health, environmental, and quality standards. You will follow Eskom’s guidelines, policies, and service agreements while performing your duties.

What you need

You must have a National Diploma or N Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Computer, Information Technology, Civil, Chemical, Metallurgy, or Industrial Engineering (NQF Level 6 with 240 credits). You also need P1 and P2 experience related to telecommunications. Additional requirements include a valid driver’s licence (Code EB, EC, or equivalent), strong technical and analytical skills, and knowledge of telecommunications, construction, and safety. Good communication, computer literacy, and the ability to work as a team player are essential.
