What the job is

This is a Facility Manager position at Virgin Active South Africa, based in Stellenbosch, Western Cape. The role involves maintaining and improving the club’s facilities to ensure a great experience for members. You will work as part of the Maintenance team to keep the club running smoothly and safely.

What you will do

You will perform preventative and reactive maintenance on equipment like fitness machines, swimming pools, HVAC systems, water systems, saunas, and steam rooms. You will handle emergency repairs and ensure all maintenance tasks follow company policies. You will also manage health and safety checks, conduct audits, and oversee utility consumption to control costs. Additionally, you will assist in managing budgets for maintenance, premises, and health and safety, and support the Club General Manager with operational tasks.

What you need

You must have a Matric certificate and an advanced technical qualification. You need at least 2-3 years of hands-on experience in maintenance, including plumbing, electrical work, and HVAC systems. Strong knowledge of health and safety procedures is required, along with experience in managing maintenance costs and teams. You should be comfortable using Microsoft Office tools and have good problem-solving and communication skills.
