What the job is

This is a Facility Manager position at Virgin Active South Africa in Stellenbosch, Western Cape. The role involves ensuring the smooth operation of the club’s facilities to provide a great experience for members. You will work as part of the maintenance team to keep the club in top condition.

What you will do

You will perform preventative and reactive maintenance on equipment like fitness machines, swimming pools, HVAC systems, water systems, saunas, and steam rooms. You will handle emergency repairs and ensure all maintenance tasks follow company policies. You will also manage health and safety checks, conduct audits, and monitor utility usage to control costs. Additionally, you will assist in managing budgets for maintenance, premises, and other operational expenses. You will train and support onsite maintenance staff and collaborate with other technical teams in the region.

What you need

You must have a Matric qualification and an advanced technical qualification. You need at least 2-3 years of proven maintenance experience, including hands-on work with plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and plant equipment. Strong knowledge of health and safety processes is required. You should be skilled in managing maintenance costs, working with Microsoft Office, and understanding utility consumption. Good people management and communication skills are essential.
