What the job is

This is a Facilities Manager position with CBRE Excellerate, a leading company in commercial real estate services and investments. The job is based in Accra, Ghana. CBRE Excellerate helps clients across Africa and the Middle East with services like facilities management, project management, and advisory support. They work with corporate clients who need these services for their properties in the region and sometimes globally.

What you will do

You will manage a team that oversees the daily operations and maintenance of medium to large buildings or a group of sites. You will support client managers with repairs and investment plans for the facilities. Your responsibilities include supervising, training, and developing employees, conducting performance reviews, and coaching team members. You will also handle hiring new staff, scheduling daily tasks, and managing facility repairs and maintenance. Additionally, you will prepare and manage budgets for capital projects and operating expenses, approve vendor relationships, and review price quotes for parts, services, and labor.

What you need

You should have an engineering qualification, which is an advantage but not required. You need at least 6 to 10 years of experience in facility management. A certification in facility management is preferred. You must have experience in staffing, training, coaching, and performance management, along with strong leadership skills to motivate your team. Required skills include leadership, team management, problem-solving, advanced math, negotiation, quality assurance, and vendor management. You should also know about building operations, capital project management, budgeting, safety procedures, and facility regulations.
