What the job is

This is a job for an External Sales Representative with Kontak Recruitment. The role is based in Pretoria, Gauteng, and involves working for a growing company in the food and beverage industry. What you will do

You will generate new business opportunities by making cold calls and prospecting for leads. You will develop and maintain relationships with new and existing customers in your assigned area. You will schedule and attend client meetings and sales presentations. You will plan and manage your daily and weekly sales routes effectively. You will achieve sales targets and maximize commission-earning opportunities. You will conduct regular customer visits and follow-ups. You will handle all sales-related administration, including updating customer records, spreadsheets, and sales reports. You will assist with promotional events, product launches, and marketing initiatives when required. You will monitor market activity to identify opportunities for business growth.

What you need

You must have a Grade 12 qualification. You must have a valid driver’s license and your own reliable vehicle for commuting to and from work. At least 2 years of sales experience is advantageous. You must be able to generate your own leads and source new business opportunities. You need strong communication and relationship-building skills. You must be presentable, professional, and have excellent administration and organizational skills. You should be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. You must have strong attention to detail and effective time management and route planning skills. You must be self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently with minimal supervision. You must be willing to work occasional weekends and public holidays for promotional events.

What you will get

You will earn a monthly salary of R15,000 plus commission. The company provides a company car for client visits, fuel, a cell phone, and a laptop. This is a 3-month probationary position with the potential to become permanent. You will have the opportunity to grow and advance your career within the organization.
