What the job is

This is a job for a Driver and Handyman at Bestmed Medical Scheme, a company in the insurance industry. The position is based in Pretoria, Gauteng, and is a permanent role. You will be part of the Procurement and Facilities team, helping with transportation and maintenance tasks.

What you will do

You will drive company vehicles to transport materials, equipment, or people safely and on time. You will perform routine maintenance and emergency repairs on buildings and facilities. You will inspect properties to find repair needs and suggest solutions. You will manage small repair and renovation projects to ensure they are completed on time. You will keep accurate records of vehicle usage, maintenance work, and supplies purchased. You will follow safety rules to comply with regulations during transportation and repair work.

What you need

You must have a valid driver’s license and experience in driving, along with a good understanding of vehicle maintenance. You should have a proven history in handyman services, including plumbing, electrical work, and general repairs. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with little supervision are required. You must have excellent time management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently. Good communication and interpersonal skills are also important. A Grade 12 qualification is preferred.
