What the job is

This is a permanent position for a Driver and Handyman at Bestmed Medical Scheme in Pretoria, Gauteng. The role combines driving duties with general maintenance and repair work to support the company’s operations.

What you will do

You will drive company vehicles to safely transport materials, equipment, or personnel to their destinations on time. You will perform routine maintenance and emergency repairs on buildings and facilities, including plumbing, electrical work, and general fixes. You will inspect properties to identify repair needs and suggest solutions. You will manage small repair and renovation projects, ensuring they are completed on schedule. You will keep accurate records of vehicle usage, maintenance work, and supplies purchased. You will follow safety rules to ensure compliance during transportation and repair tasks.

What you need

You must have a valid driver’s license and experience in driving, along with a good understanding of vehicle maintenance. You should have a proven background in handyman services, including plumbing, electrical work, and general repairs. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with little supervision are required. You must have excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently. Good communication and teamwork skills are also important. A Grade 12 qualification is preferred.
