What the job is

This is a permanent position for a Data Centre Officer at Eskom, a leading company in the electricity, energy, and water supply industry. The job is based in Sunninghill, Gauteng, at Megawatt Park. You will work in the Data Centre & Server Room Hosting Services team, ensuring the data centre runs smoothly and meets business needs.

What you will do

You will monitor and report on the availability and capacity of the data centre to ensure it is optimized. You will advise on the design, building, and hosting of all ICT equipment in a secure environment, including installations and decommissioning of equipment. You will support engagements with all Group IT functions and implement strategies for data centre services. You will also assist the Data Centre Manager with planning and researching new data centre technology solutions.

What you need

You need a National Diploma in Information Management, Information Systems, or Information Sciences (NQF Level 6 with 240 credits). You must have at least 3 years of experience working in data centre environments and with critical infrastructure systems. Strong problem-solving, analytical skills, and knowledge of ITIL processes are required. You should also be a good communicator, able to work under pressure, and have advanced Microsoft Office skills.
