Contracts Manager - Plumbing and Construction

What the job is A plumbing and construction company in Cape Town, Western Cape, needs a Contracts Manager. This company works on commercial and residential plumbing projects. What you will do Plan projects to make sure they are profitable and delivered on time. Manage all site needs for the company, including attending meetings with main contractors. Make sure quality control, testing, and reporting are done on all sites. Check that site workers are using the latest approved drawings and project details. Ensure plumbing work follows council rules and project plans. Manage project budgets and buy materials to avoid delays and extra costs. Work with the Quantity Surveyor to track monthly site costs. Monitor project progress and keep accurate records. Send formal notices about delays, payment issues, or work stoppages when needed. Organize workers, subcontractors, and resources across different sites. Prepare and submit progress claims and variation claims with the Quantity Surveyor. Oversee daily business operations and find ways to improve them. Help develop staff and suggest training programs. Talk to clients and engineers to find new project opportunities. Assist with preparing tenders, especially for Design & Construct projects. Write monthly reports on project progress, updates, and costs. Keep all project documents, drawings, and records up to date. Do other tasks to support the business as needed. Be available to work hours based on site needs.

What you need A valid driver’s licence. 5 to 10 years of experience in the plumbing industry. Experience as a Contracts Manager or similar role managing multiple construction sites. Good writing and speaking skills. Strong planning and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple teams and sites at the same time. Experience with budgeting, cost control, and reporting. Experience working with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and main contractors. Computer skills to maintain project documents and reports.
