Contracts Manager for Plumbing and Construction

What the job is This is a full-time job for a Contracts Manager in Cape Town, Western Cape. The company works in plumbing and construction, handling both homes and businesses. You will work with builders, engineers, and project teams to make sure plumbing work is done well, on time, and within budget.

What you will do Plan projects to make sure they are done on time and make money. Manage all site needs for the company, including attending meetings with main builders. Make sure quality checks, tests, and reports are done on all sites. Check that workers are using the latest approved plans and project details. Ensure all work follows council rules and project requirements. Manage project budgets and buy materials to avoid delays and extra costs. Work with the Quantity Surveyor to track monthly site costs. Monitor project progress and keep accurate records. Send formal notices about delays, payment issues, or work stoppages when needed. Organize workers, subcontractors, and resources across multiple sites. Prepare and submit progress claims and changes with the Quantity Surveyor. Oversee daily business operations and find ways to improve them. Help with staff training and development. Talk to clients and engineers to find new project opportunities. Help prepare tenders, especially for Design & Construct projects. Write monthly reports on project progress, updates, and costs. Keep accurate project documents, drawings, and records. Do other tasks to support the business as needed. Be available to work hours based on site needs.

What you need A valid driver’s licence. 5 to 10 years of experience in the plumbing industry. Experience as a Contracts Manager or similar role managing multiple construction sites. Good writing and speaking skills. Strong planning and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple teams and sites at the same time. Experience with budgets, cost control, and reporting. Experience working with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and main builders. Good computer skills to keep project documents and reports.

What you will get A salary between R500,000 and R900,000 per year, depending on experience.
