As a Commis Chef, your main job is to help ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and food is prepared perfectly. You will start by getting all ingredients and tools ready before service begins, following kitchen instructions for chopping vegetables, making sauces, preparing salads, and cooking hot dishes. You will also monitor food supplies, maintain a clean workspace, and follow all food safety and hygiene rules.

You will interact with guests by greeting them, taking orders, explaining menu items, and ensuring their satisfaction. If a guest has a problem, you will handle it professionally or escalate it as needed.

Requirements:
- At least a one-year culinary certificate or similar qualification in cooking.
- Good knife skills and knowledge of food safety laws.
- Ability to work as part of a team and take responsibility for tasks.
- Preference given to members of the South African Chefs Association.
