Casual Frontshop Assistant (Fixed Term) - Optenhorst

What the job is: This is a casual, fixed-term position for a Frontshop Assistant at Dis-Chem Pharmacies in Optenhorst, Paarl, Western Cape. The role involves assisting customers, maintaining shop organization, and ensuring products are well-stocked and presented. You will work directly with customers at the point of sale while adhering to Dis-Chem’s standards.

What you will do: - Ensure all products are fully stocked, organized, and free of expired items. - Handle customer purchases, including cash, card, voucher, and coupon payments. - Manage loyalty cards, cash storage, and sales/stock records. - Assist with stocktaking, reporting damaged/expired items, and loading/unloading stock. - Maintain accurate product displays, labels, and prices. - Provide friendly, professional customer service.

What you need: - Grade 12 (Matric or Senior Certificate) qualification. - Up to 6 months of retail experience preferred (1 year or Retail Business Management certification advantageous). - Basic math skills for cash/sales transactions. - Strong communication and problem-solving abilities. - South African citizenship with a clean criminal record and credit rating. - Valid driver’s license and reliable transport.
